Technology is changing education for the better. Parents have seen the benefits as well, and many tablets have been converted from simple gaming or entertainment devices to interactive education tools. Along these lines, we visited the folks at WRCB-TV in Chattanooga to discuss some great websites and apps for kids who need a little extra help with school. Jumpstart is very game-centric and helps introduce young ones to different subjects through games. It’s always fun to learn without it feeling like school, right?
This is a collection of K-12 resources to help students struggling with certain subjects. They have hundreds of lectures and classes online, as well as resources for parents and teachers. Best of all, it’s free.
This site is specifically for students that need help with math, brought to you by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
Lots of great resources for parents, students and teachers.
With thousands of education apps available, how do you know which ones are the best? Appitic solves that problem by creating lists of apps that may be helpful for your student. You may find additional resources there as well.
Just a quick caveat: for kids in elementary school, you will want to consider limiting their screen time. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends keeping children this young to under 2 hours of screen time per day.
